October - Fallin' into 14 Months

John is 14 months old. It's awesome to think back to how much he has grown, and how much of his personality is already showing through. He is walking with ease, he can touch his eyes, ears, nose, lips and head, when prompted; when asked to go find something and bring it to us - he searches high and low until he is successful and comes running back with a proud smile; and he is now saying a few words - Coo (his first, for Cooper), Dada, and Mama, though the latter is a rarity.

This month we welcomed visitors from Boston and San Fransisco! The Wellesley boys (Tim, Casey, Drew and KevA), came to hang and though John was, at first, a little wary (who wouldn't be?), he eventually warmed up and we all had a great time catching up. Now that Fall is here, we took John to two pumpkin patches in the area. Each had a hay ride and farm animals - he nearly got peed on by a milking cow, and a sheep tried to nibble off his finger, but John was too busy laughing and pointing to notice!

To all of our family and friends in the Northeast - please be safe with Hurricane Sandy, we heard she's feisty! Maybe Mary's just letting us know she's having a party up there! xo
