Weeks 25-26 - A Very Merry Unbirthday to John (yes, John)!

Six months. How did we get here so fast?! It's a little scary to look back at some of the photos from the beginning and see how much John has grown. At his six-month doctor's visit, John weighed in at 18lbs. 6oz, which puts him in the 75th percentile, so according to the charts he's less of a beast, but we beg to differ. No big changes since the last post, so we'll just let the photos do the talking. Note: I realize it seems as though we never change this child's clothes, but be assured, we wash that outfit every other Friday.

Weeks 22-24.5 - Millions of Peaches/Milestones

We may have taken a break from the blog, but John has not stopped for one second! Since our last post, John reached the 5 month-old mark; on that very day he began rolling over regularly and with grace.  Shortly thereafter we tried feeding him some home-roasted butternut squash and he practically licked the bowl clean.  Since then, we added green beans and delicious pears to his arsenal. He absolutely loves food, though we aren’t surprised.  The addition of solids to his diet brought many changes to the little man – sleeping, eating, demeanor – and we can’t keep up.  In the past few days, John has begun to master sitting up.  He is still learning balance, but with someone near to catch him when he tips over, he’s been doing well and seems to love the new view.  Also new is John’s love for his pacifier; gone are the days when we leave home without one. Happily, this habit is teaching John a little bit about pacifying himself (pun extremely intended), a milestone we are happy he reached.

Last weekend was jam-packed with fun!  It kicked off with a visit from Cousin Shawn, who was visiting from Florida.  Later that day, we took a trip to New Hope, PA/Lawrenceville, NJ, where we enjoyed brunch and a walk around the quaint little towns with our friend Joe.  Sunday we watched the Giants beat the “Pates” in the Super Bowl with our new neighbors/old UM friends, the Jos.

Some photos and a video from the weeks…

(These are our roller coaster faces!)

First taste of butternut squash!
