Ready for Christmas!

We've been spending a lot of time chillaxing at home and playing at the park gearing up for the holidays and the colder weather up north. We can't wait to see our family and friends so soon!

One new fun development of the recent weeks is that John is starting to fill in the "blanks" when we read his favorite books. For example, in "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," on the second page - "One Sunday morning, the warm sun came up and..." John chimes in with "POP"!!! And later in the book John tells us that the caterpillar ate through one "APPIE!!!!"

A few new words in the rotation: circle, duck, and zipper!

Merry Christmas and peace on earth, especially. xox

Winter?

Thanksgiving has come and gone. We celebrated quietly here in Charlotte - nice! Now it is supposed to be Winter, but the weather in Charlotte has felt a lot more like early Fall. No complaints, though, as it has meant plenty of outdoor play for us!

John seems to be adding about one word per week, lately - "soccey" (for soccer), "car," and "uh,oh!", are among the newest (check out the videos on YouTube). On a good day, John will even blow a kiss, but he is pretty stingey with those, so I've yet to catch it on video. Also, he loves to dance and takes it very seriously. At his 15-month check-up, John was 32"long and weighed 25lbs!

John loves chocolate milk!

More Words!

This week John added a few more words to his repertoire... "appie" for apple(sauce), "truh" for truck and, "bappy" for ball. In addition he seems to be starting to use Mama and Dada with more intention.

We took him to a soccer field over the weekend and found some soccer balls left behind. Somehow, John knew how to dribble the ball. Considering the athletic ability of both his parents, we were shocked.

(Lately, I've been having a difficult time posting videos here, so be sure to check those out at: www.youtube.com/user/babebrady82411.I'll continue to post all videos there.)

John's 1st Haircut!

Yesterday we took John for his first haircut. While we didn't anticipate him being particularly fond of the experience, we were hopeful anyway (and besides that he really needed a haircut).

It went a little something like this (we'll leave the captions up to you)...

Before.
During.
After.
